Kansas Association for

Nicholas Green Distinguished Student Award

The Nicholas Green Distinguished Student Award is  given each year by KGTC and NAGC to one student in Kansas who has shown outstanding accomplishment in any area of endeavor-visual or performing arts, academic achievement, or leadership. The award consists of a Certificate of Excellence and a $500 U.S. Savings Bond.  This award is sponsored by the National Association for Gifted Children (NAGC) and the local state affiliate (KGTC.) The award was established by Maggie and Reg Green to honor the memory of their seven year old son Nicholas who was killed in a drive-by shooting while  visiting Italy in 1994.

Students may nominate themselves or be nominated by parents, teachers, students or community and civic groups.

The Kansas winner will be selected in May and is expected to attend the KGTC annual conference in October in Lawrence to receive the award publicly.
