President's Project: The Chapman Challenge Dear KGTC Members, We have an opportunity to be of assistance! As you know, in June the community of Chapman was devastated by storms. A tornado estimated to be 1/2 mile wide, hit the Southwest side of Chapman and moved through the town. All three of the town's schools suffered damage. After visiting with Marcia Wilson, the gifted facilitator who serves Chapman schools, I would like to create a President’s Project entitled The Chapman Challenge during our upcoming conference. With so many needs, KGTC will focus on replacing reading materials. Together we have developed a list of books needed to restock library shelves –a passion and necessity for gifted children. If you have extra copies of requested books, or if you are retiring and looking for a new home for treasured copies, please bring them along to conference. I will have specially marked boxes placed at the Regional Representative’s registration tables. In addition, if you wish to make a small donation, your Regional Representative will have an envelope for contributions. Just think, if each of us donated just one dollar, every school would have over $100 to purchase reading materials – a necessity for bright and thirsty minds in a community that lost just about everything. I thank each of you in advance and hope you will join with me, showing support for children in Chapman. Warmest Wishes, Marcia Law, KGTC President For more information,
